東京を再生させた人修羅くんが、海を渡ってＤＭＣ事務所に来てから２年めの春。 人に丸投げしていた事務仕事を締切直前に突然自力でやる羽目になったダンテを、手伝ったり手伝わなかったりしつつ過ごす一日。 元・日本の高校生はアメリカの悪魔狩りとどうやって暮らしているのか？ 山積みの書類 VS. 半人半魔コンビ、どちらが勝つのか？ すこしへんてこ、けっこうラブラブな二人のお話です。
書類を作りながらイチャイチャする合間合間に、凸凹コンビが日米文化の差をちょっとずつ埋めていく回想を挟むような構成になっています。 そういう歩み寄りにエモさを感じる方にオススメの内容です。 本文は２段組で、約17,000文字のボリュームです。 コピー本にしてはちょっと豪華かもしれません、本文以外も含めたら二万文字以上になっていると思われます。 真３本編以外にも、デビルメイクライシリーズのナンバリングや小説なども知っていると少しニヤッとできる小ネタもあります……が、知らなくても問題なく読めます！ ９割方、人修羅くんの一人称視点で進みます。 紙の本とデータ版の内容の差は、ルビや記号などシステム的に再現が難しかった細かい部分と、紙の本にあるちょっと変わった遊び紙以外は同じものとなっています。

東京。 俺の故郷はある日突然、丸くなってしまった。 何だそれ、という感じだけど他に言いようが無い。 世界が閉じて、存在していた生命は身体を失い、悪魔たちが闊歩する場所になった。 そうなった東京は、ボルテクス界と呼ばれていた。 俺はたまたま、そこで生き延びてしまった。 そしてダンテと出会った。
ボルテクスで少し親しく――少し親しく？――なってから聞いた話だけど、ダンテは東京が丸くなる少し前に成田空港に降りたそうだ。 金髪の依頼人に航空券を渡されたから有り難く使ったとのこと。 真っ赤なコートをはためかせてのし歩く常識はずれのド派手なハンターが、常識的に旅客機を利用しているのを想像して腹を抱えて笑ったら、
『じゃあ太平洋を泳いで渡れば良かったか？ 良い準備運動になりそうだし素潜りは得意なんだがな、速度がそこまで出ねぇから多分間に合わなかったぜ』
とか言われた。 はやく海を渡るために、ラウンドトリップの要領でリベリオンを回転させてスクリュー代わりにしているダンテを想像して、もっと笑った。 ダンテとバカ話するようになるまで、あの世界であんなに笑うことはなかった。
『しかもそんな大きな剣と拳銃、どうやって日本に持ち込んだんだアンタ？ ルールがありすぎて、俺なんて発着待合ロビーに水を持ち込むのもヤなくらいなのに』
『難儀な奴だな。 剣は包んじまえば預け荷物でいけるが、確かに Ebony & Ivory［こいつら］ は毎回ちと手間だ。 機会があったら手順を教えてやるよ、それに比べりゃ液体なんざ楽勝だ。 空港の免税店で十［テン］ガロンくらいの量なら余裕で水でも酒でも買えるようになるんじゃないか？』
冗談だと思っていた。 でも、全てが終わった後、元に戻った東京で呆然と過ごしていた俺のところにダンテはもう一度来て、春になったら迎えに来るから準備しとけと言い残し、帰っていった。
次の春、俺は空港のチェックインカウンターで自分の荷物を詰め込んだエナメルバッグ（国際線は運搬が手荒だと聞いたので、ファスナー同士をしっかり縛り付けてあった……気休めだけど）を預けた後、ダンテの白と黒の銃がＸ線検査をされる様子を見ていた。 空港勤務の警察官に、装弾がされていないことを確認させながら、ダンテは通関許可関係の申請書をこっちに投げてよこした。 ちょっと悪魔なだけの普通の高校生だった俺には当然ちんぷんかんぷんだったので、ダンテや係員の言う通りに手取り足取りしてもらいつつ必要事項を記入した。 おかげで流れは理解できたけど、すっごく面倒くさいことも理解できた。
『お疲れさん。 な？ ひと仕事こなして喉も乾いたろ。 水でも買ってやろうか』
『十ガロンお願い』
アメリカ行きの機内は、終始カラカラに乾燥していた。

It is the spring of the second year since Demi-fiend, the man who revitalised Tokyo, crossed the ocean to join the DMC office. A day spent helping and not helping Dante, who suddenly finds himself on his own just before the deadline to do the paperwork he had been throwing around to others. How does a former Japanese high school student live with an American demon hunter? A pile of papers vs. a pair of half-human, half-demons - who will win? This is a story about two people who are a little strange, but very much in love.
The uneven duo make out while doing paperwork. In between, there are recollections of how they are gradually bridging the gap between Japanese and American culture.
This book is recommended for those who find such compromise emotive. The text is double-columned and contains about 17,000 words. If you include the rest of the text, it's probably more than 20,000 words. There's also a few tidbits that will give you a little grin if you know anything about the Devil May Cry series, including the numbering and novels ......, but even if you don't, it's still a good read! 90% of the story takes place in the first person perspective of the demi-fiend. The difference between the paper book and the data version is the same, except for a few details that were difficult to reproduce in the system, such as rubrics and symbols, and a piece of paper for the design that is inserted in the paper book.

If you're checking this out, then you're exploring a very core and wonderful passion. With all due respect, however, this is a bit of an odd piece of work, so I'll provide some additional information.
This book is a 'novel', which is a rarity among my published works. It is written in Japanese. Unlike manga, there are no pictures to guide you, so if you are not a regular user of Japanese, it can be difficult to read.
So, if you've got the guts to get over that barrier, I've made the book available as a download from the start, rather than just in paperback, so that you can get right through to the translation software! Also, in this book, they are represented as working hard to file their tax returns, but it is probably a fantasy mixture of the Japanese and American methods. So this is for people who don't care about the details.
